| List of Resources - Part 5 : Digital Library Tools |

Integrated Digital Library - IIN offers IDL (Integrated Digital Library – www.iingroups.com/idl ) as the main component of its Digital Library Solution. This product acts as a gateway to your electronic resources by providing a simple but yet powerful navigation tool for finding suitable and required resources. All of your resources are subject categorized at three levels of

  • Category
  • Main Subject
  • Subject

which allows your library users to find specific resources required for their needs.

Electronic Resource Management (ERM) – IIN’s ERM supports all of the administrative tasks associated with evaluating, licensing, and providing access to electronic content. It provides vital e-resource information to the library’s users while alleviating the headaches of back-office management of electronic resources.
The ERM provides a single, cost-effective database for information about a library's electronic collections. It reduces the staff effort traditionally required to manage, deliver and analyze e-content while providing improved service to patrons.

  • Effectively manage your growing electronic resource collection. The ERM provides a single point for managing the complex relationships between resources, packages through which they are acquired, and the licenses that govern their use.
  • Easy navigation and easy access to information. With IIN ERM’s easy-to-navigate interface, it simplifies usage and makes it easy to access all of the data needed to manage and troubleshoot electronic resources.
  • Support patron needs while increasing staff efficiency. IIN’s ERM improves a library's ability to support a wide range of patron activities and needs while giving staff greater control over electronic resources, which boosts their productivity and efficiency.

Federated Search - This provides a comprehensive resource for conducting federated searching and enables patrons to abstract, categorize, and analyze retrieved items in a customized manner, resulting in a more productive federated search. As part of the new suite of tools for IDL, Federated Search and its family of utility products enable users to easily retrieve, view and access the most relevant information from library resources.

  • Federated Searching Within A Single Interface. Federated Search enables users to search across multiple resources with a single query, in any language, through one single interface. The interface accepts a query in plain language and executes the analysis “on the fly.” It then returns an abstract of each item retrieved, and clusters items retrieved into concepts.
  • Sophisticated Analysis Of Search Results. Federated Search provides an analysis layer enabling several unique capabilities, including automatic categorization and clustering of search results, automatic abstracting and summarization as well as automatic key-wording and alerting systems. Users can quickly find the items of interest by clicking on citations clustered by topic.
  • Intuitive, Customizable User Interface. Federated Search offers a clear, easy-to-navigate user interface that reflects IIN’s long-standing commitment to the principles of good interface design. And Federated Search has been engineered to not only meet the needs of most institutions straight from the box, but also to offer the flexibility to support basic interface customization, making it accessible to libraries at all levels.

Linker – This is an OpenURL-enabled link resolver, provides comprehensive fulltext linking for a library's electronic resources, regardless of the software or content vendor. It is fully OpenURL compliant, and can work in conjunction with any other OpenURL compliant system.
